Gift Ideas
2007 | Posties
I’m notorious enemies with wine – even in my ‘problem’ days, wine wasn’t something I could stomach – I just don’t like the taste of it. However, Natalie enjoys it, and I’ve been searching everywhere for gift ideas for her that I can afford, since her birthday is coming up very soon ( I notice that pretty much everyone’s birthday is coming up, lol ), and that’s why I’m all happy about the idea of Wine Clubs from AmazingWineClub.com.
First impression of their site is that it loads quickly, but the colors remind me of the inside of a fast food joint – plus they clash something terrible ( it looks like it’s part of a ‘clubs’ franchise of websites, so I’m not surprised ), and you get slapped with a loading error when you get to the site ( it could use some validation, to be honest ), but everything is nice and neat, and you can find your way around easily.
You don’t really get a selection, that bothered me. They don’t tell you what sorts of wine you can expect, or anything, really, about the wine except for it’s color. I feel that, if you’re going to have an online store and you do have a selection that it’s much more appealing to the consumer to be able to look over your selection and choose their package based on what their personal tastes are, but that’s really just my personal preference.
The prices for the wine of the month club are really good, lower than I would have expected, plus they give you term options so you don’t have to buy a full year just to try it out, which I think was a fabulous idea. The order form is also very easy to understand and use, and important links like TOS, contact, privacy, ect. are all easy to locate at the bottom of the screen, and I find that so many online business entirely forget their important links, so that was a big deal for me.
All in all I love their prices, and ease of use and readily available information make it ideal for gift giving – but without a selection, it’s hard for me to say weither or not I could use their service. It’s definately a great idea, though.
