My Own, Personal, Wall St.

2007 | Random

You know, I’ve always been only mildly interested in the stock market – yes, only mildly. The reason being that, to me, it seems like traditional investing may as well be flushing perfectly good money down the drain. I just don’t make enough to do that, so while the concept interests me, it’s always been more like gambling in Vegas in my opinion. This is because I don’t have the time or money I’d need to learn to invest wisely, and even if I did, I’d be pretty much on my own.

That’s why MyWallSt.net is such a cool idea. It’s a social-type network all about investing where you can make friends while you learn about the market and trade tips with other members. That’s such an original idea, and much less scary than traditional investing where you’re out there on your own completely – in fact, you’re basically betting against other investors, reading about stocks in the newspaper that are already hours to days old instead of being able to see the realtime stats or buy/sell in real time.

At MyWallSt.net you’re surrounded by potential friends who are happy to help and, most likely, just learning themselves so you don’t have this super competitive atmosphere. You should really check it out, you can create a profile like facebook or myspace, and make the kind of small contacts who’d be happy to help you take the guesswork out of picking stocks and lead to better investments – plus you get to test out, if you will, stock trading using real stocks and virtual money to get your investment sea legs. What an awesome idea, eh?
