I Heart Hawaiian Shirts

2007 | Clothing

I am obsessed with all things tropical and all things retro, and I think I have more hawaiian shirts than any twenty-something woman really needs. I’ve got yellow, red, green and yet more yellow, black and brown and everything in between ( I need to get pink, I NEED to ), and I’ve always got it in my head that I want one more, lol. They’ve got such a nice, laid back feeling to them and when it comes to comfort, as my grandma used to say, they’re like buttah. They make me think of vacations I can’t take, and places I can’t go, where the breeze is cool and the sun is warm, and the only sounds are lapping waves. I miss California, lol.

There are some gorgeous hawaiian shirts over at Mad Gringo ( I love that name, lol ), I’m especially taken with the Vanuatu Hibiscus, a gorgeous navy shirt with white hibiscus ( my favorite flower, thank you ), and real coconut buttons – how can you ask for more than that? And Mad Gringo’s “Go Slow” philosophy is right up my ally, especially with how busy I’ve been lately. I love that they promote the concept of stopping for a bit to smell the roses and kick back, I mean, tomorrow’s gonna be there – monday’s gonna be there. Real life? It’s gonna be there. Take a break, already, lol.

BEFORE YOU COMMENT: Please understand that, though I'm all for free speech, I'm also busy and downright mean. Because of this I will not tolerate offensive, inappropriate or hateful comments. I'll warn you and delete the offensive part, but if you repeat the offense I'll probably ban you from the domain. I'm sorry, but I just don't have time for spam, racism, and so on and so on. Just to note: What I find offensive? Is what we'll call offensive, this being my blog and all. ;)
