I know you already know, just by the sheer amount of gushing and rambling I do about it, that I’m a sucker for tea servings. I’ve got two Japanese tea sets, since I’m always flat broke ( lol ), one new black set with a tray and the other a gorgeous cream with 24k gold rim and peacocks that’s about 38-39 years old, mint condition. I adore them, and I’m always looking for new serveware since I really need some every day tea items plus some other every day items ( plates, cups, bowls, ect. ) to match it because the only plates that match my tea sets are a black and white sushi set with steamer plates.
But, I did see this gorgeous set named Aureus that has a beautiful teapot and matching mugs in gold filigree pattern on bone china and it’s absolutely breathtaking. It’s got big peach and aqua flowers on it, plus sugar bowl and cream server which are just gorgeous and I do need a more European set to go with my Asian sets, which are fine for Solstice ( and will be used for Solstice dinner ), but really aren’t appropriate for Thanksgiving when my mom and her friends are likely to be over and will probably want something more traditional. Well traditional this is, to a point, but it’s got just the sharp little edge that makes it so me.
The best part about this set is that, like all serverware items from Villeroy and Boch, it’s twenty percent off until Halloween Day, October 31! Plenty of time to get your hands on some of this for Thanksgiving dinner and even Christmas Dinner, if you celebrate it. You can treat your guests to a little bit of real luxury, create the atmosphere of fine dining in your home. I think the Oval Platter would look positively beautiful with my Thanksgiving turkey on it, don’t you? I love this time of year, lol.
