Park West Gallery

2007 | Rants

Possibly the single thing that annoys me the most about the Midwest, other than it’s blatant racism, of course, is the severe lack of culture here – culture of any kind. Here people build you up to be fake and pretentious, or a snob if you don’t do ‘country’ things like riding a lawn mower or drinking everything out of mason jars, and the single most important compliment you could ever hope to recieve is that you’re “So Country”. Well, I’m very sorry but I’m a fan of the ballet, I adore The Nutcracker ( you heard me ), I’ve been known to listen to Moonlight Senata on length and I’m more inclined towards Opera than Oprah. But of all the things I miss about living in the city, one of the biggest is visiting art galleries.

I’ve got to say that the Park West Gallery, an affiliate of Park West at Sea, has some some absolutely beautiful pieces, as far as I’ve seen. They claim to have the largest collection of fine art in the world, and they regularly sell it at auction. The artists ( Andrew Bone, in particular ) have varied and beautiful styles and visiting their art online almost makes up for the fact that I’m stuck here, in the middle of nowhere, lol.

BEFORE YOU COMMENT: Please understand that, though I'm all for free speech, I'm also busy and downright mean. Because of this I will not tolerate offensive, inappropriate or hateful comments. I'll warn you and delete the offensive part, but if you repeat the offense I'll probably ban you from the domain. I'm sorry, but I just don't have time for spam, racism, and so on and so on. Just to note: What I find offensive? Is what we'll call offensive, this being my blog and all. ;)
