Business Card Reader

Okay, you need to know about this because it’s freaking awesome, and my mom would totally get a kick out of it because she’s computer illiterate, lol. It’s a business card reader from ScanShell called Scan2Contacts, and basically what it does is allows you to create a brand new contact record in your outlook express program simply by placing a business card in the scanner, and since, as I’d stated earlier, my mother is computer illiterate, she has trouble typing anything into anywhere, this is definately for her because it’s so simple.

I thought it may be one of those scanners where you have to scan the card and it inputs the info into another program that you then have to copy-paste or import into outlook express by yourself, which is a hassle for someone like mom who really can barely type with both hands as it is. Instead, Scan2Contacts scans the card and directly inputs the information into a new contact for you, so you don’t have to fiddle with it and it never gets too complicated to use, which is a bonus because mom’s got enough on her mind and really doesn’t need to deal with complicated software and hardware. It’s ridiculous that someone hadn’t come up with this sooner, but you’ve got to hand it to ScanShell for being the ones to get it right, mom’s gonna flip!
