Internet Marketing

Is anyone else noticing that traditional internet marketing isn’t getting the results it once did? When I say “Traditional Internet Marketing”, I’m really saying PPC and banner ads. I used to offer banner ad space here at Beautiful Sin, for very cheap ( only $2/mo ) and I really did make quite a bit of money that way, and the people who bought ad space got a sizeable amount of hits in return, but the bottom dropped out of that. And link exchange affiliates? The bottom dropped out of that, too. It seems like, as a whole, that trend is past and where it’s really ‘at’ is a combination of peer review ( sponsored blog posts ) and search engine ranking. Of course, Google claims the throne over many an internet business with it’s all powerful Page Rank, and for your average dummy like me it would literally take the use of a search engine optimization company to gain any real exposure at all.

Take this blog for instance, it’s had it’s high’s and lows and it’s been established for almost eight years, with a domain for six years, and it’s still never broken 3000 hits a day – it’s gotten close, but never that cigar. And now I’m down to a few hundred. Why? Because I lack the experience of an internet marketing company, because, until recently I hadn’t done any research because PR, Alexa, search engine optimization, ect. didn’t mean a thing to me. Now I’m regretting that decision, especially because I work so often that I don’t have a lot of time to learn how to properly market my websites, and I know a lot of people – business owners as well as bloggers – are in the same jam. The problem is that we don’t have the know how or resources to really do well online. This is where a search engine optimization company would come in handy. I can’t speak for you, but I need someone to do these things for me or, better yet, show me how to do them myself because at the moment I can’t fathom the internet, lol.
