Black Friday Blues

2007 | Gifts and Giving, Holidays, Random

Guess what I didn’t know about? And yes, I am stupid, but I didn’t realize that you could bypass a blackfriday shopping massacre by buying online from a store ( sort of – explaination below ) named Black-Friday.net. For those who don’t know what Black Friday is, Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving and is, at least in the United States, the single biggest shopping day of the year. Some people are known to go early ( Thanksgiving Day ), but for most the day after the holiday is the first real day of the Christmas shopping season – and you could easily reach for a present and pull back a knub. Don’t tell me you don’t remember Cabbage Patch Kids or the run on Tickle Me Elmo?

Now, back to Black-Friday.net, the reason I said it was ‘sort of’ a store was that it’s more like an online directory of major stores with Black Friday ads. Not only can you find these ads before BF ( most merchants don’t advertise their Black Friday ads until that day or the day before ), but you can also get direct links to the merchandise advertised so that you can buy it online, and they even list coupon codes on the website! You’re likely to find yourself face to face with Tommy Hilfiger Deals and specials from The Disney Store. The idea is to make Black Friday a lot less Black, and give you the option of buying from the comfort of your own home – turkey sandwhich in one hand, mouse in the other ( computer mouse, not the other kind, because that would be unsanitary ).

I'll warn you and delete the offensive part, but if you repeat the offense I'll probably ban you from the domain. I'm sorry, but I just don't have time for spam, racism, and so on and so on. Just to note: What I find offensive? Is what we'll call offensive, this being my blog and all. ;)
