LED Lights

2007 | Holidays

Pew. I need new Christmas lights, the only ones I’ve got that work are orange lights that are orange for a reason – they’re actually colored for use around Halloween. Yes, I know, I’m lame. What I kind of want to get are LED Christmas lights, something that’s got a nice, long light life and won’t burn out halfway through the holiday season. Besides, as I’m sure I’ve ranted before, LED mini lights and LED Xmas lights use 80-99% energy than standard lights, which is nice because I’m broke and I really don’t need the power bill headache I had last year by using regular holiday lights, even though they did burn out pretty quick. You’d think I’d have saved some money after that, but of course not, lol.

Actually, according to the U.S. Department of Energy, if everyone in the U.S. replaced their standard inandescents with LED holiday lights it would save over two billion kilowatts of electricity, that much electricity may be enough to power a staggering 200,000 U.S. homes for the entire year, can you imagine that? Now, apply the figures just to me – that’s right, I’d save money, loads of money, and isn’t that what’s important to everyone? How much money I save?
