Belated Birthday

Woo hoo, I actually got a birthday present from my mom! It’s a bit late, and it’s small ( a christmas cocoa sampler ), but still good! She tried to give me a porceline(sp?) doll slash umbrella, something that her boss pointed out she’d bought for herself and then given to me real quick when she remembered it was my birthday. On top of the fact that it was hideous and tacky as hell, lol, it was obvious before he said anything that it was for her – she loves dolls, absolutely adores and babies them even at her age, and I can’t stand them. They scare the crap out of me, lol. Her bedroom and house are entirely surrounded with the horrible little bastards, eyes all beady – I don’t like walking into a room and being watched by a billion dolls, lol. I had been up for over two days working, I was exhausted and upset because I’d pretty much missed my birthday due to work and exhaustion, and I didn’t have even a little fun – so her giving me a thoughtless ‘gift’ that she tried to take with her ( didn’t care much, like I said, I hate dolls lol ) and handing me a load of work to do while her boss insulted me just made me snap – and cry a little bit. I’ve been so overworked lately, I was looking forward to a little downtime and fun and I didn’t get it. So, when she brought over the new ‘present’ and apologised for her behavior the night before, I was shocked – plus she brought a cake, can you believe it? I wonder why the change of heart? Anyway, I celebrated yesterday ( and have decided to pull a Mia Tyler and celebrate for a week every year, lol ) and had a good time.
