Sightseeing in NYC
2007 | Holidays, Random, Travel
Stupid time of year! Thanksgiving is the absolute worst holiday to be stuck out in the midwest, and I mean that. You miss a lot of things living out here, but there’s one thing I miss every year that I truely mourn and that is Thanksgiving in New York City. Sure, I can watch the Parade on television, but the irritating hosts talk over it and, let’s face it, even if they didn’t it just isn’t the same as being out on 34th and Broadway and watching it live, right?
There’s so much about NYC that I miss, and so much I never got to see. I’m almost tempted to book one of those New York sightseeing tours the next time I’m in town, just so I don’t miss out on everything I always miss out on. I’m really a tourist at heart, and it doesn’t matter where I go, but it may not be a bad idea to have someone who knows the lay of the land better than I do ( and who’s licensed and registered as a tour operator, so I won’t get lost! ) around to make sure I don’t miss the overlooked sights, right? Besides, at about $300 for a 5 hour day of sight seeing, it’s not too expensive and it would be a cool way to spend time with friends while learning a little more about NYC.
