Re-living Old Pain
2007 | Family, Health, Pain, Random, Rants
If you’ve talked to me at all the the last few weeks, you already know that I’ve had a lot of luck and a few uses out of my free sample packs of Freeze It Gel for my horrid, stupid pain, but I’m not the only person in my family or circle of friends, by far, who needs pain relief.
For example, Laota has had a few too many bruises, aches and scrapes in her life, but there’s one that’s given her a perminant problem that she suffers from to this day – and it’s been at least three years since it happened.
She was riding her bike, both of our bikes are third-hand ( or, were, we can’t use them anymore because they suck, lol. ) that didn’t have entirely inflateable tires or breaks of any kind, we just had to get used to stopping without breaks. Well, this particular time our trick of stopping with no breaks didn’t work.
She was coming down a not-so-steep hill and tried to turn to avoid one of the horrible, stupid gutters on either side of every street in this neck of the woods, but she got too close to the gutter and, if I’ve gotten this right, turned the bike twice and it just flipped her off and spanked her against the pavement for a few feet ( thank the Gods she didn’t end up in the gutter! ) and to this day she’s got severe problems with her back, both legs and one of her arms and problems with her spine. The worst part was right after it happened, when it still hurt the most, we both had our stepdad to take care of and it would have been nice for her to have some kind of relief from the pain while she did her daily work, but no such luck, and it’s something that’s still really painful for her and she could use the relief now. It’s hard to see someone who’s only 26 occasionally move around like she’s actually 86 and, being that I don’t move around that well myself after the last few years, it’s harder not to be able to do anything.
I really think Freeze It would do her some good, because it helps with back and neck pain, shoulder pain and knee and hip joints and all of this has really put a damper on what she can and can’t do. She’s still young, I’d love to see her able to get out and about again, and not have to sit down in the Pharmacy section of the store five minutes after we walk inside because she just can’t walk anymore.
