Be Oyster Aware

I am such an oyster fan. I love seafood, I think it comes from growing up in Washington State and getting all that fresh harbor fish – I miss fishing, and I miss the grey, cloudy days when we,- my mother, Laota and myself – would take the bus to the bank and then go grocery shopping, then we’d walk the three blocks to go down to the Fish on the Beach and get fish and chips, salmon or oysters with lemon wedges and it was just so delicious and I have a lot of good memories from those days.
One thing I never really thought about are the risks of eating oysters if you’re not informed and careful, and I had no idea that the risks were so serious. If you’re a fan of delicious Gulf oysters, please do yourself a favor and go visit BeOysterAware.com, a great site with not only information about oysters and recipes for many different kinds of oyster dishes, but it also explains in a lot of detail many of the risks involved with eating oysters that I’d never heard of and likely couldn’t spell if my life depended on it. This site is so informative, I can’t believe it’s a rarity on the web, and everyone who loves oysters really ought to check this site out!
