Movie Rantage
2008 | Movies, Rants, Rawr, Watching
I’d love to say that nobody likes a bad movie, but as it turns out that’s so far from being true that it’s a blatant lie. The sheer success of stinkers like The Ring and the remake of Halloween (neither of which needed to be remade, mind you) versus truely great films like Shutter (no, not the one that came out this year) and In Fear that basically have no Western popularity at all, to the point that their remakes look like brand new concepts.
Is it too much to ask that great horror films not be remade or reimagined, but instead remastered and rereleased? Seriously, man, I’ve had enough of this crap, and the remaking of The Eye was the straw that broke the pope’s hat. The Eye is one of the greatest horror films ever made, brought to us by the amazing Danny and Oxide Pang, and they had no business remaking it. End of rantage, lol.
