Have You Heard: Manhattan Biohazard

2008 | Uncategorized

Columbia University, as it turns out, is dead set on building a biohazard lab. Guess where? Oh, the Upper West Side aka Manhattan, NYC. About the weirdest place to build a biohazard lab on earth with the exception of Beverly Hills, though I suppose you can’t expect prestigious Columbia University to work around real toxic waste, eh?

Apparently Columbia’s facing some negative press from people who say that this will ruin the Hudson River – and I kind of wonder what Hudson River they’re talking about that hasn’t been ruined already? Maybe it’s an underground river or something, lol.

Though I do agree with the Stop Columbia’s Expansion Project – Manhattan could be put in a lot of danger here, and supporters of Columbia seem to not really thinking this through. If they were somewhere less populated with less to lose then I’d be for it, because we do need research on the subject, but on the Upper West Side? Really?
