I’ve decided I just don’t know much, because when I think of the dangers of alcohol, the first thing that comes to my mind is drunk driving, and one thing that never enters my mind is the concept of boating operating under the influence. In fact, it’s to the point that when I started reading the information and watching the videos about Arizona boating over at AZGFD.gov, I was really uninformed on the subject and I suppose I still am.

For instance, I didn’t know that one third of all of the fatal boating accidents nationwide are the result of boating while under the influence of alcohol, or that half of the fatal boating accidents in Arizona were due to alcohol in 2007 alone. It’s insane to me that you have to train and test to drive a car, but you can get in a boat at any time without having to undergo any sort of training at all. At least there’s one place that you can get your boating education online, because it would be a shame if there were no way to spread the message and hopefully stop the practice of dangerous, and very illegal drunk boating. Now the basement is flooding again, and we just got the hot water heater turned back on a few days ago! Actually, it’s never turned on high enough so we end up with luke warm water at the very best, but mostly live with freezing water. I need to have the guy who lit the pilot down there show me how to do it and how to make it hotter, but we don’t have decent wiring down there so it’s dark as hell, and me without a flashlight.

I kind of want to get one of those Surefire new flashlights from lapolicegear.com, just because they’re police issue and it just makes me want one, lol. I’m such a guy, I love stuff like that! One way or another I need a new flashlight and some decent galoshes so I can fix that thing.

Ugh, I hate Missouri and I hate bugs. This house is an ant trap! No matter what we do they get in and swarm, they get into everything and I’m tired of having to keep flour, oat meal, pasta, tea and coffee – everything – in the freezer to keep them away, because even that doesn’t work.

I just spent my morning bug spraying about 500 ants that were attracted to the faint tea scent in my Yixing teapot, and since the floor in here isn’t white I can’t really see if I got them all but I did get the ones on the tables and counter and wall. Plus now everything has to be re-washed, including my teapot which is clay and has to be washed just a certain way. Feh.
