Beautiful Western Art
2008 | Travel
Ahh, now this really takes me back! I’m surfing over at the website for the Stark Museum of Art, a museum in Orange, Texas, and they have just the most beautiful collections of art from the unique American West, I don’t believe I’ve ever seen such a large variety or such beautiful pieces as the ones they have displayed on their website – which is also gorgeous, btw!
The Stark Museum of Art has a strong connection to The Stark Foundation, founded in 1961 with the purpose of improving life and the quality of life in Texas through promotion of the arts and education assistance, and I think they really have the right idea. I think the younger generations aren’t benefiting from the arts like they really should, and it seems like with every generation there are a few – or even quite a few – less children who are interested in sculpting, painting, or even going to museums, and that’s really our fault for not instilling a love for such expressions.
Something really missing from Missouri is the ability to immerse yourself in a beautiful statue or painting, or to learn about various kinds of wart, which is something the Stark Museum is known for! In fact, they have collections of art ranging from American Indian ( Native American ) art and rare books, to Western Art which is just simply beautiful. I’ve had a chance to look over the site and it’s just gorgeous!
If I ever have a chance to check out The Stark Museum of Art ( which I really doubt I will, considering I have no money and I’m quite a long distance away from Texas! ), I’m definately going to – and if you’re an art lover, you may get a kick out of it, and possibly learn something about the US!

I’m sure it’s a beautiful museum. Texas is amazing when it comes to culture. I never would have believed that but I lived there for a few years and it was fantastic. They really care about preserving the past and promoting art.
