Shopping Spree

2008 | Money

Whoo, thank you PayPerPost and SocialSpark! Because of payouts I’ve been able to buy some stuff that was much needed. Laota and I bought some new incense for Summer Solstice and everyday tribute, as well as some thingies for our kitchen.

One of the first things we bought, because we’ve been perving on it forever, is a brand new Brita water filter pitcher. See, if we’d bought it in town ( which we were saving up to do ), it would have been $30 for the pitcher and another $30 for 3 replacement filters, and we’ve been putting it off because we can’t afford $60 in one fell swoop for something like tap water. But, we saw the same filtration system and refill filters on Amazon.com, and with my free Amazon Prime trial, we got them with free 2-day shipping and they were cheap to begin with. We paid $26 for everything, that’s less than HALF of what we would have paid for the same exact thing at the local store.

The second thing we bought for our kitchen was a new rice maker. We got the Wolfgang Puck 5 Cup in the stainless steel finish for $27, shipping and all, on eBay and that’s going to take a lot of heat off of me when I’m making bento. Plus it’s brand new, not refurbished, so it comes with the 12 month warranty, how cool is that!?

On top of everything else, we bought ourselves a few new books on Amazon, Square Pegs on DVD and the latest Seventeen Magazine from Japan on eBay. Overall it’s been a Mr. Moneybags month and we’ve barely spent $100 on everything, but $100 is a big shopping spree in our house, lol.
