Take Me to TV Land

2008 | Family, TV, Watching

I don’t watch much TV anymore, but I noticed this morning that there’s a short block of TV that I do watch when I get through with work – Roseanne, Roseanne and Angel in the early mornings and the more I watch what little TV I do watch, the more I realize how much TV has influenced me, lol. I think of things differently because of the television mavericks like Roseanne, Joss Whedon, etc., than everyone else seems to.

I think because my parents didn’t raise me unless it was time to hit someone or there was work to be done by us kids, it was the TV that did the raising. I spent the majority of my young life sitting in front of Nick at Nite and I think the retro clothes and way of talking and acting contributed to my Rockabilly-ness, lol. Joss Whedon, Chris Carter, and Roseanne, and other contemporary television genius people helped me grow into my own liberal ideals and learn to be, I don’t know, non self loathing? Plus, Joss Whedon perminantly screwed up the speech patterns of my entire generation like Valley Girls did for the generation before me, lol.

Granted, this is a boring entry, but it was floating around in my mind, lol.

BEFORE YOU COMMENT: Please understand that, though I'm all for free speech, I'm also busy and downright mean. Because of this I will not tolerate offensive, inappropriate or hateful comments. I'll warn you and delete the offensive part, but if you repeat the offense I'll probably ban you from the domain. I'm sorry, but I just don't have time for spam, racism, and so on and so on. Just to note: What I find offensive? Is what we'll call offensive, this being my blog and all. ;)
