Movie Review: Eagle Eye

HOLY MACARONI, dudes, I just got done watching Eagle Eye, staring the lovable everyman Shia LaBeouf, and I’m starting to think that film critics may be slightly retarded or something because that film ruled. It may be because I’ve already cut my teeth on films like this that have come out of Japan, China, Korean, etc. like the Vengeance trilogy ( Lady Vengeance, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance and Old Boy ), Bangkok Haunted, Bangkok Dangerous, A Tale of Two Sisters, Infection, Kairo (Pulse), and a slew of other amazing films that throw you into a world very much like the one in Eagle Eye.

Now, granted, I’m an avid fan of The Beouf, but I’ve got a little secret for you – I’m not above hating some of his films. Constantine was the best of his worst, Dumb and Dumberer, Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle and the Even Stevens franchise all make my face melt off and throw me down a well only to have my rage form into a deadly ring-shaped virus and spread via video tape… I’m getting off the point.

Basically, some of Shia‘s films have been pure crap, but I do love the majority of them and Eagle Eye is a new top 20 film for me. Very cool, very fast paced, sort of like an episode of the X-Files on speed and ‘roids. Lots of neat explosions, foot chases, car chases, planes, trains and automobiles. Also, Shia LaBeouf isn’t allowed to cry in films anymore – I don’t like it, and I won’t stand for it, lol. Seriously, he could extort money from me that way if he wanted to – and I don’t even *have* money. A better review will be up at Shia-LaBeouf.biz tomorrow, and you have to check it out or I’ll use your cell phone to kill you. Seriously, I can do it! I can so! I can so!
