Great Gifts Under $25
2008 | Family, Gifts and Giving
One of my bigger issues right now is that, even though I don’t celebrate Christmas, I still have a ton of Christmas Gifts to buy for my loved ones who aren’t Heathanic or who just love to celebrate the holiday. Because of this I’m entirely, 100% stumped for what to get them, because even if I could find just the right present for each and every person on my long gift list, I’m not ashamed to say I’m very poor and I doubt I could afford the gifts.
My problem is that I don’t live near a Kmart, in fact I live as far away from one as I think is possible to get, lol. They’ve got great gifts for cheap, in fact you can get everything from Just Kidz® Deluxe dolls to Martha Stewart candle holders for less than $20 a gift. Personally I’m a big fan of the Joe Boxer ladies sleep sets, only because I’m so cold all the time now that all I can think of are cozy things to sleep in, lol.
They’ve got such a huge selection that I’m seriously thinking about bartering a ride to the nearest possible Kmart store, which I think might be all the way in St. Joseph and that’s a 140 mile ride, but if the website is any example of store contents then it seems like it may be worth the ride!

Stupid Weather

You know I was all set to blog about an insanely good book I’m reading right now called ReDecker: A History of Christianity’s Methodical Holiday Theft but I can’t. Why? Because I’m freezing and that’s all I can freaking think about. Yes, the heater is STILL broken.
This happens every year, nothing in this place works right because when they were ‘fixed’ it was done all half-assed like so the sink leaks buckets, the hot water’s never on, the oven doesn’t work and the best part is that there’s no heat at all. I hate this place.

Sears Heroes at Home Wish Registry
| Family, Gifts and Giving
It’s that time of year. Yeah, I know that sounds super duper cheesy, but it really is the perfect time of year – the time when everyone’s hearts get a little roomier. There aren’t just people in need in other countries, and we don’t only have presents to think about, unfortunately poverty and other issues are all around us and now is really the perfect time to open your heart and your wallet and give what you can. To who? Well this isn’t a plea for Toys for Tots, though I’m 100% behind them and have donated this year, no this is a post for the amazing Sears Heroes at Home Wish Registry.
What Heroes at Home Wish Registry do is they (Sears) work with non profit organizations and generous people like you to help raise money for brand new clothes, shoes, etc. for the families of Veterans, who are the real life heroes who’ve given everything to their country and now they need our help. If you can spare just a few dollars for the registry please, please give whatever you can. You’ll be making Christmas and life easier for families who’ve given so much to us and haven’t asked for anything in return.![]()

Snow Day
| Holidays
Ack, it’s getting so cold. The first real snow of the season is going on outside, and I’m telling you right now, I don’t like it. I hate winter time. I mean, I really love the holidays – meaning the good ones like Yule, Solstice, Harvest and Sabett – I can’t stand cold. I hate snow, I hate Christmas, I hate people in general lol, and I’m not that fond of the Jesus freaks. Don’t get me wrong, Jesus was awesome but his believers can eat a candybar out of my ass if they think I’m joining their ranks of doom, lol.
Oops, I got offtrack. This religionism is killing me inside, lol.
Anyway, back onto the snow thing. I dislike. Someone make it stop, it’s cold enough in my stupid, non-heated house as it is! I don’t need to drudge in from the freezing cold snow with no ability to warm up afterward, once I’m inside. Pleeeeeaaase Daniel, please fix the heater soon!
