Month of Movies #6

Yep, it’s time for movie #6 for November’s Month of Movies!

SHUTTER (2004)

Far superior to the crappy remake released in 2008, Shutter is a subtle, creepy and truly frightening Thai film about a couple who’s haunting problems seem to begin when they hit a woman with their car while driving one night – a woman who disappears from the road.

The backstory is well thought out, it’s terrifying and suspenseful. The effects aren’t perfect but the way it’s shot gives it a look of realism that the American remake ( as well as many American remakes of Asian horror films ) screws up with it’s over stylized, super polished look (plus Rachel Taylor bothers me, lol.) This film gets 7 whole stars out of a possible 5!

Stay tuned for tomorrow’s film, which will be posted on Shibuya 109!
