Month of Movies #8
2008 | Movies
Special installment for my birthday! Film #8 for November’s Month of Movies is:
MURDER BY NUMBERS (2002)
Maybe the best Sandra Bullock film ever made, Murder by Numbers is about highschool students Justin Pendleton (Michael Pitt) and Richard Haywood (Ryan Gosling)’s foray into being truly ‘free’ through a supposedly guilt-free act of random murder. In the film Bullock’s character, Cassie Mayweather, is a police detective who uses her own past and her own theories to try and smoke the truth out of the boys.
The film is mildly scary, very psychotic without being over the top and the acting from Pitt and Gosling’s so good that it’s made me a fan of Gosling, who I’d hated before that. 3.7 out of a possible 5!
Stay tuned for tomorrow’s film, which will be posted on Shibuya 109!
