The Holidays Are Expensive!

2008 | Clothing, Family, Gifts and Giving, Holidays

I’ve talked a lot lately about holiday shopping, and I’ve got to say that I can’t stop talking about it because I’m racking my brain as to what to get everyone on my list for each specific holiday.

See, being pagan and part of a larger heathen community means that almost everyone I know celebrates four or five gift giving holidays around Solstice and Yule time. Everyone’s celebrating, lots of gifts are being given, but after the second fest you start to run out of holiday gift ideas fairly quickly, lol. Thank the Gods that Sears has a layaway program now that will let you reserve all of the newest, trendiest and best for the holiday gift giving season!

I know one thing my mom absolutely loves is new clothes. I mean Laota and I – we like new clothes, too – but my mom? She’s the girly girl in the family. She loves anything with beading, anything that shines and she’s in love with classic black ( as am I ) which is why I’d definitely go for something like the Classic Elements Women’s Plus Bling Button Peached Henley in black for her, because I know she’d love it!

Laota? Laota‘s easy peasy! She has been wanting an actual working dishwasher for ever and ever, and there just happens to be one available for Sears Layaway like their Maytag 24″ dishwasher which has a great classic white finish, though you know Laota she’s always going to prefer chrome. But I really think something along the lines of a table top dishwasher is more what she’d want.

And onto me! I’m in love with the Sag Harbor Women’s Plus Quilted Jacket. It’s an absolutely rich and gorgeous color, and it’s got that adorable Audrey Hepburn cut I just love so much. It’s a shame it doesn’t come in black! Either way, all three are on my shopping list – I’m hoping to get to a Sears soon, but who knows. I live in the middle of nowhere and it’s hard to travel anywhere.
