No Bento Blues

Whoo, work’s got me tied up and I haven’t been able to get much done today, haven’t even made my bento for tomorrow yet so I’m *really* running late! I’m really trying to get around the fact that rice is out of the question right now, which is so hard because rice is such a staple in our house and I’m never sure what to replace it with. I mean I guess I could do pasta, I guess I could do potato stuffs, but it’s just not the same as a good, hearty onigiri with tuna filling and furikake sprinkled on top. I miss sushi rice most of all.

Plus when next I order from Asian Food Grocer I’m going to have to buy a lot of things I can’t afford but need. I need more sweet cooking sake, I need more wasabi paste, more bonito furikake, more matcha powder and rice flour for dango, I need 2 bags of Calrose (my favorite brand) and more dashi and tofu, because you can’t buy tofu out here in the boonies. I’m never going to be able to afford all that, lol.
