Panama City Beach Vacations

2009 | Holidays

Argh, do you know what just dawned on me? Vacation season is coming up. I can’t take a vacation, or even take some time off of work because I really can’t afford it, but if I did have the ability to go I’d have been kind of mad at myself for not knowing about VRBO’s vacation rentals, of which there are 100,000 around the world.

See, I’m not the kind of person who can take Panama City Beach Vacations, even when I’m not flat broke. But with hotel prices hitting nearly $200/night these days (which is insane no matter how you slice it), it seems crazy to not take them up on their offer. I was looking at some of the vacation rentals they’ve got, and we’re talking $135 per night – with a private pool, no less! How can you beat that?

Dude, I swear upon all that’s sweet and good in Odin’s beard, if I ever have to travel or want to travel and have the money to not have to live out of my car, I’m so going with VBRO instead of a hotel. I can’t get over that private pool!

Transformers Sunday Countdown!

| Movies

Three days. Not EVEN three days. Yes, that’s right, until the Superbowl. Don’t get over excited here, I’m a big football fan but the reason I’m so engrossed in the countdown to Superbowl Sunday is a weird one, but one every LaBeouf fan will probably be anticipating, too. Superbowl Sunday, during the commercials, has been set as the date for the premiere of the very first trailer for Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen, which isn’t due out until mid year but we’re already getting some pretty ridiculously awesome promos.

I’m having a bit of a fit, though, having to wait so long. I’ve already got to wait six-ish months for Harry Potter to come out, and I did have to wait through horrible Twilight season (someone shoot me, they’re already making the next Twilight film), so I’m due for a good film already. I haven’t seen a good one in the theater since Eagle Eye, but I’ve seen a few good ones which were already out on DVD like Sunshine and Death Proof which I didn’t get to see until November.

I’m hoping to be able to get through this upcoming month waiting for New York, I Love You, which you know is going to have, at best, only a few screen release. Even with big names in it like Orlando Bloom, Natalie Portman and Shia LaBeouf. It has barely been advertised, were I not a LaBeouf buff (giggity) I wouldn’t even know about it. :S

Fantasies of a Perfect Home

| Home and Garden

I’m exhausted. I’m working late again, which wouldn’t be so bad if it weren’t an all the time thing. At least it’s mostly customer support and call center, and it gives me time to reread On The Road and peruse the Schumacher Homes Press online between support calls. Schumacher always distracts me, though, with fantasies about my perfect home which I can never have unless I rob a bank, lol. It’s so cool that they’ve got a service like that, though, it’s not something you see every day. Very unique!

Disney to Fox: Narnia Changes Hands

| Movies

Is anyone else royally ticked off at the whole Disney “Narnia” franchise? For all their big budget BS, and forced Christian undertones, the films thus far have been about 1/3 as entertaining as the books and 1/2 as entertaining as the low budget BBC versions from the late 1980s. Such utter swill, such utter crap. Why bother continuing with a franchise if you’ve already failed to do the first novel justice?

Apparently even Disney is trying to escape this tired BS, they’ve reportedly taken themselves out of the game and won’t be co-financing the third film, The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader, leaving Fox (Yes, FOX of all studios) to pick up the pieces and back Dawn Treader. I can only hope they do something about this over pasteurized crap. I don’t agree with Lewis, but his work doesn’t deserve this.
