Eagle Eye! Eagle Eye!

I’m impatient! Do you know what today is? Do you!? Of course you don’t! Today is the day that Amazon.com is supposed to deliver my 2 disc special edition pre-ordered Eagle Eye DVD boxset that I’ve been waiting impatiently for since December 27, lol. It’s driving me crazy! There’s an alternate ending on one of those discs and now I’ve got to know what it is. I’m going to go insane.

I know a lot of people didn’t like Eagle Eye, but to be honest I think the majority of them are nitpicking. I don’t really think that it’s even the movie, I think it’s more that there are people out there who just can’t stand Shia LaBeouf, lord knows why. I suppose any young guy who becomes a superstar fast as lightening is going to have a mosh pit of haters out there, but it doesn’t color my opinion a bit. I thought Eagle Eye was awesome – granted it was ripped off from lik every major sci-fi thriller made since Hitchcock, but who cares? It was fun even with the needless Shia hate that ensued.

I can see why people may not like Eagle Eye, even if the main character were some other hottie of the moment, but what I don’t get is why the hate over Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull? It quite closely resembles all of the Indiana Jones franchise, it’s definitely better than Temple of Doom, I’d say it’s even better than Last Crusade if not quite so good as Raiders. Raiders is the best of the franchise, no question, but for enjoyability I’d say I really loved Crystal Skulls more. I think everything gelled, even with the over the top, oh so whined about stunts.

I have to point out, though, that the same people who bitched about Indiana Jones 4 also rant and rave about how good The Matrix was, and that was a load of cat crap in an old sock if you ask me. The call to adventure was a literal phone call. Yeah, well I don’t need to say any more than that.

Anyway, my box set should arrive today so I’m going to be all giddy for quite awhile lol.
