Hype What You Love
2009 | Music
I’ve recently signed up over at EverHype.com and I have to admit I’m kind of stumped. It’s a bit frantic there, and I’m having a hard time figuring out exactly what to do and what not to do, but fear not, that’s why they have the Hype Wizard to guide me through the process of hyping my favorite music which is what I’m doing right now because everyone should walk around with Start Wearing Purple by Gogol Bordello blaring from their earbuds, lol.
But while I’m currently using EverHype for my favorite music reviews, that’s far from all you can do there. Basically when you sign up for EverHype, you’re given the opportunity to hype music, movies and television either negatively or positively and it allows others to view your television, movie or pop music reviews and add their own ratings, reviews and comments to what you’ve already written. You can also send private messages and add people as friends, so while this is obviously a network for entertainment hyping, it’s also a social network like Facebook or Myspace only infinitely less annoying, or at least it is in my opinion.
That’s because unlike Facebook which is over run with people sending pixel drinks and taking quizzes, or Myspace which is useless now that it’s no longer a hub for musicians, EverHype is still being used for what it’s meant to be used for – hype! Plus it’s new, to m anyway. Shiny and new, and you know how I love new!
BEFORE YOU COMMENT: Please understand that, though I'm all for free speech, I'm also busy and downright mean. Because of this I will not tolerate offensive, inappropriate or hateful comments. I'll warn you and delete the offensive part, but if you repeat the offense I'll probably ban you from the domain. I'm sorry, but I just don't have time for spam, racism, and so on and so on. Just to note: What I find offensive? Is what we'll call offensive, this being my blog and all. ;)
