Bye Bye God, I’m Done With Ye.

2009 | Rants

I’ve decided that I can’t deal with conservatives. I mean, I do get what the moderate conservatives are saying to a point but they contradict themselves so much that most of that they’re for is harmless. It’s what they’re against that’s the problem.

I had a long conversation with the Schwan’s guy – who’s an Evangelical and a super Conservative (fun!) – who, in the course of the conversation, tried to convince me that Gays and Lesbians not having the right to marry doesn’t hurt anyone, Evolution isn’t based on ANY scientific fact, there’s real hard evidence that the world was created in 7 days and, my favorite, that the Jews were responsible for 9/11.

I hate that, when people make me sorry that I’ve given them the benefit of the doubt by turning out to be racist, homophobic idiots. This is worse than that time my mail man handed me a package from Japan and goes, “Looks like you got something from China!” which was an understandable mistake. Until I said, “Nope, it’s from Japan.” and the mail carrier goes, “Whatever, Oriental is Oriental, right?” – no, I didn’t kill him. I only wanted to.

First of all, that 7 days of creation thing? If you want to believe that, then you stand on your head and believe it, I don’t care. Wether or not you and I agree on how the world was formed doesn’t hurt me on bit, it’s not until you want to teach my children your faith based nonsense in school that I’ve got a problem with it. As if it’s not bad enough that you added “In God We Trust” to our money and “Under God” to our Pledge of Allegiance, now my kids have to go to school and hear from a trained teacher that a giant yet invisible white man in the sky decided to make the world for no good reason, did so in 6 days then took a nap? Dude. What the hell!?

Secondly, if you tell me that homosexuals shouldn’t be allowed to marry like you’re theory doesn’t take freedoms from someone, I’ll kick you in your chest, I swear it. The guy actually asked me how gay people not being allowed to marry in any way took their freedoms away. The Christians will still begrudgingly ALLOW gay people to be together, right? Why do they have to call it marriage? Why are they so upset that they don’t get to be treated like everyone else? Good point! After all, black people didn’t mind getting their water from a colored water fountain and using a colored’s only bathroom, right? I mean, after all, they still get water and to use the bathroom, right? So why complain? JEEBUS, can you not see how horrible and dangerous that kind of thinking is!? How is this even allowed or, hell, even up for discussion in this country?

Third, and most importantly I think, the very idea that the Jewish people are responsible for 9/11 – based on a FALSE and HURTFUL rumor that no Jews showed up for work on Sept. 11, 2001 in the WTC – is not only bigoted, racist, hateful, ignorant and horrible it’s also a blatant lie that is perpetuated by people who are anti-semetic. Very much like it’s homophobic to take rights away from or persecute gays, these kinds of lies and stereotypes are hate crimes against the Jewish people and the fact that they are from mostly faith based organizations makes me wonder how anyone can call themselves a good person, claim that their religion is the faith of the meek, good and humble and still persecute and harass people for no reason. Yeah, I’m done with my rant, and I’ve decided I’m done with monotheists.
