Auto Blues

I think my mom’s finally tired of not having a car. Hers is loaned out to a friend because said friend rear-ended an idiot ( another one of mom’s friends ) who stopped without slowing down right in front of the car. So the car’s entire front end was smashed up and my mom let her use her car until the smooshed on is fixed. The friend who stopped so fast? Stopped in the middle of the street, and I mean slammed on the breaks, so she could close a door tighter. Plus she’s got no insurance. Fun!

Thank the gods the friend’s car is relatively new, because it’s impossible to find parts for the older cars she’s got. I can’t imagine the damage that would’ve been done if she were driving one of those. Granted if she were really looking for auto parts, she could do worse than GreatAutoParts.com. Their catalog’s really easy to use, and you can get parts from as far back as 1955 ( use the drop down box to choose your year, then the second to choose your make and hit “SEARCH” ) – I did a few searches to see what they had and they’ve got a lot of stuff there.

The site loads quickly, which is a must, and it’s easy as pie to navigate. With the selection they’ve got there ( including 1955 Ford Break Shoes, which is as far back as I could go ) I can’t imagine not finding what you need.
