Explaining Odinism? Perfection Achieved!

One of the hardest things about being a Heathen is explaining your beliefs. Not because it’s hard to put into words – which it is if you’re not looking to scare the bejeesus out of the asker – but because people just aren’t used to what you’re about to say, even if they think they want to know.

To be blunt when people tell you they want to know about your religion it’s usually for one of two reasons. Number one is to look cool, because they’re totally modern and cool, with their green bags and Styrofoam cups of $20 coffee, and their art house brains are above petty topics like religion. Or, the most common reason, is because they have the one TRUE religion and you’ve got to be saved, so they have to shoot your beliefs down or else how will you learn?

Well, there has finally been an article published that explains it all in a simple, beautiful and easy to understand terms as I’ve ever read it and it’s What I Like About Odin (A Pagan’s Whyfor) over at Laota‘s website. And you have to read it, or I will keeeel you, lol.
