My Town Is Falling Apart!

The one bad thing about living in Missouri ( okay, there are about fifty billion bad things but I’m trying to make a point here, lol. ) is that, because I work 18 hour days and usually end up working all night, when I do get some sleep it’s during the daytime. Unfortunately Missouri’s roads are horrible so every time a car drives by it sounds like a a Transformers battle’s going on outside my window. Just loud, bumping, honking – all day long. I can’t even imagine how this is happening since I live in a very tiny town ( only 1800 people, 1 store, etc. ) so it’s not like there are a whole lot of cars going by, it has to be the same few cars over and over again, right?

I wish they’d fix the roads, maybe get off their butts and do something about the fact that there are no sidewalks on these narrow, ditch-lined streets that are accidents waiting to happen. Or fix anything at all. Unfortunately this town squanders it’s money on weird things ( putting up new road signs but not fixing the road, moving the swimming pool to the left 200 feet – and yes both of those things really did/do happen ) instead of buying equipment, paving roads, getting serious construction trucks or equipment like a OK Champion S660 Sewer Rodder which could really do this city a lot of good if they’d use their money a bit more wisely and try fixing up the town instead of letting it go to pot.

Actually I may use the contact form they’ve got sitting up on the ‘city’ web site and send them ALasher.com’s link so that they can check out the website, maybe implant the thought of renting or buying some of the killer equipment and vehicles they’ve got over there. I sometimes wonder if the reason the town is in such disrepair is because it just doesn’t get the kind of tax money and grants that some towns do, an then they go and do something weird like spent a load of money to have a dedication ceremony at a ‘park’ that is basically two picnic tables on the side of the interstate. Also true! How crazy is that!?
