Movie Review: The Alphabet Killer

2009 | Movies, Reviews

Released to apparently no one in 2008, this half supernatural half ‘psychological’ thriller stars Cary Elwes and Eliza Dushku.

The film centers on Megan Paige, a police officer and apparent skitzo who becomes obsessed with a case in which two young girls are murdered in similar ways, each double initialed (like the double C’s in Cordelia Chase) and brought to a town by the killer with a name that matches these initials.

I wanted to like this film, I really did. I wanted to go, “See? Eliza does pick some good movies!” but the film was ultimate flat, easy to predict and while the acting was good for the most part, the direction and production was god awful.

The Alphabet Killer’s better than Wrong Turn and that’s about all I can say for it. Five out of ten stars.
