I’ve been really getting into making themes lately, but I want to be good before I offer any here for download (yes I do know that I’m being silly, since I likely won’t ever be that good lol!), but I have found a lot of awesome freebies on the net lately and most of them fall into the WordPress category.
Well a friend of my has recently started working on her portfolio website and we went on a search for great wordpress themes that can work for graphics (or photograph) portfolios. We literally found hundreds of them, here are the best!
Smashing’s Magazeen – FREE!
Gorgeous and widget-ready, Smashing has outdone themselves with an amazingly easy to use design that uses the timthumb script so your article images have no trouble being used and reused all over the site. Great for anyone running an article engine or portfolio website!
DailyWP’s Portfolio – Free & Commercial
Beautiful brown layout with all the trimmings! Widget ready with a portfolio theme settings page on the dashboard. Works up to WordPress 2.6 with no problems.
Sharpfolio’s Portfolio – Free & Commercial
Perfect in simplicity, this portfolio is minimal and easy to read but sleek and well designed. It’s got a great colorscheme and is ready for a widgeted blog!
Graph Paper Press f8 – Commercial
Just perfect for a commercial photo website, or even just a personal photo blog, f8 WordPress Portfolio Theme from Graph Paper Press is just gorgeous and so professional looking. It’s widget ready and SEO optimized!
These are all amazing, and I can’t believe so many of them are free! I may start doing these resources posts more often if there’s a need and interest in them.
