Time for a Television Upgrade

2009 | Electronics, Gifts and Giving, Money, TV

I seriously don’t have much time to go television shopping but it looks like sooner or later I’m going to have to because, money or no money, my TV is nearly shot. The thing’s been on the fritz forever because it’s just plain old. In fact I think it’s 13 or 14 years old by now but I can’t remember for sure.

The one nice thing about this is that it gives me an excuse to get into the idea of a home theatre, which is a luxury I’ve never really thought about before. I suppose entertainment in the way of television isn’t a big thing for me these days. I would, however, love to try out an HD television before there’s yet another new electronics trend and I find myself behind the times again. I am stubborn, though, and I’m refusing to upgrade my DVD collection to Blu-Ray just because of how much it would cost (Blu-Ray discs are so pricey!) and that’s not even considering the cost of the player.

I’m seriously thinking of checking out ShopWiki.co.uk and seeing if I can find something there, because I’ve had a lot of luck with them these last few months. I feel like I’ve got a secret little gem! See ShopWiki crawls the internet for every possible store instead of just the big boys who pay for placement. Because of this you can search everything from traditional Japanese futons to AV receivers and catch results from up to 30,000 stores instead of your everyday shopping site where you’d be lucky to be able to search 1000.
