Springtime Sillyness

2009 | Home and Garden, Random

Istock_000002248614xsmall_2Guess what I saw standing in the frigging pasture today? The neighbor’s little goat, looking sneaky and shifty as goats often do. How the heck he got back there – again – I do not know, but he must have found a sneaking spot in the fence somewhere because the little rascal keeps finding his way in there even after they pen him up again. Cute little thing, but aggressive! At least we don’t have horses or cows back there anymore, because with how playful Sweets and Shorty were, there would’ve been some kind of energetic play that I just know would have destroyed that fence, lol.

Unfortunately, the bigger problem isn’t that goat or the cute little red chickens that wander in there (also the neighbors), but it’s more often the deer that come out of the timber and become little havoc machines out by the barn. We don’t get them so often anymore, but when we do it’s always a mess and they’d get into the garden when we still had one. I wish we’d known about Deer Off back then, because it was all we could do to keep them from destroying everything we planted that they could reach. If it weren’t for our very loud German Shepherd providing her own brand of deer repellent, they (along with the plentiful rabbits and evil, evil squirrels you get in Missouri) have been off like a theif in the night!
