Movies: Transformers 2 Is Coming!

Ahhhh! I’m way too excited about this film, which I think is obvious (you know, because of the screaming at the beginning of this post), but I’ve been waiting for this thing since before the WGA strike and now it’s release date is close enough to touch!

On June 24th (unless they change the date yet again) Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is due to roll out onto screens across the U.S. and Canada, and the IMAX special screening on April 30th was the first of many public appearences for the cast – if you don’t count the press conferences, which I don’t.

First of all, the whole premise of this film is *fanfare of disbelief*… deeper than the last one! Oh, didn’t you know? Michael Bay was forced to make at least one film in the last ten years with any substance at all – that’s not to say this one has substance, but compared to his other films even the TRAILER is looking pretty beefy – the story, not the star (who is looking pretty jacked in his own right, but that’s a thought I’ll have to save for later, lol).

I can’t wait for this thing to drop. They haven’t even started sending the cast around to photo calls and press junkets (or not so’s you’d notice), and already the buzz for this thing is insane. In fact the buzz for T2 seems to have entirely dwarfed any talk that may have still remained about LaBeouf‘s other film to be released this year, “New York, I Love You” which looks like it’s going to be a DVD darling if anything. Both films look great, but of course being a guy at heart it’s T2 I’m looking forward to until there’s any word of Indiana Jones 5.
