Buffy vs. Edward Cullen

2009 | Movies, Rants, Rawr, Religion, TV, Video

As you know, I’m sure, from all my ranting I’m no fan of Twilight. I’ve been known to refer to it as Twifart and it’s fans as Twitards or Twibait and in my house toilet paper has been jokingly renamed Twilight paper in honor of how much we dislike this book/film franchise.

I’m a much bigger Buffy fan. In fact, I’m a bigger Buffy fan than I am a fan of almost anything, so when Laota shared with me her find from Rebellious Pixels it made my day!

That is *exactly* what I’ve wanted to see for eleven billion years, lol. Kick his butt, Buffy! Kick it! Again!

I So Need A Branson, Missouri Vacation

| Holidays, Money, Shopping, Travel

showboat-1Every once in awhile I get really depressed that I live in Missouri. I live in a spot where there’s no work, no dining, no entertainment – heck, there may as well be no sun or air here. I realize that this is the “simple” life, and a lot of people enjoy it but I’m a city brat and by nature this is like being caught on a giant glue board.

This isn’t, however, the way it is all over Missouri. In fact I live in the same state as one of the biggest, most well known vacation spots in America and I’m sure all over the world – Branson, Missouri.

We’ve got a lot of cool stuff in Missouri – we’ve got painted caverns, The Ozarks, Six Flags, riverboats, casinos, historical sites but for a girl who grew up in Vacation Land, Branson’s got everything. They have live shows, they have fine dining, they have luxurious surroundings with a lot to do like the kind you’ll find at the Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing but my sister and I hail from Anaheim, California (she was born there, I was not) and consider it to be our home so, of course, I’m the kind of girl who can’t pass up a theme park.

Sure we’ve got theme parks up here (Oceans and Worlds of Fun – both of them from the people who brought you Knott’s Berry Farm), but this is different. Branson is like Candy Land for people who love to have a good time with their friends and families. And there’s no place in Missouri that more embodies good, clean fun than Silver Dollar City.

dixie-stampede-show-2

I can’t even make a list of things to do – they’d all be in Silver Dollar City, lol. Well, that’s not entirely true. I’m crazy in love with the idea of staying in a cabin at The Wilderness, then checking out the Branson Belle Showboat. Then I think it would be Ripley’s Believe It or Not and the Roy Rogers / Dale Evans Museum. Of course we’d have to visit the Dinosaur Museum, the fountain in the town square and lastly we’d check out the Dixie Stampede show. I’d love to do all of those things but mostly I just want to get to the attractions at Silver Dollar City. I’m a log flune person, call it a crutch, and I love coasters!

I would love to check in to the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel, though, because they’ve got some top notch recreation – like fishing. Yes, fishing is one of the neat things listed on their website! How cool is that?

Actually right now they’re having a great special offer that gets a family of four overnight accomodations and 3 day park hopper passes to Silver Dollar City and White Water from about $439, which is a steal!

Hair Color Treasure

| Beauty, Health, Random

Oooh, I’m glad I was at home today because I found a treasure! A huge treasure if you consider the fact that hair color costs money that I don’t have, lol. A leftover Blue Black (gorgeous dark blue ink color) from the vibrant colors (garnier) that I forgot I had. Looks like I already pilfered the little conditioner out of it, though, lol.

So I’m sitting in front of the PC with my hair doused in great smelling stuffs, a mud mask on my face, waiting to wash this crap off of me and look divine! Well, not divine in the sense of actually looking good, but having my natural hair color isn’t really ‘me’ if you catch my drift, so I feel better already.

I know I’ve got a purple haircolor somewhere, I just have to search and comb my house and look for it. All in good time, for now I’ve got inky hair. Yay!

Search Rentals and Apartments with Free iPhone App!

| Electronics, Freebies, Home and Garden, Money, Random, Video

-2

I’m perminantly in the market for an apartment. The fact that there seem to be none here (you’d be hard pressed to find anything you need out here in the boonies) makes the whole thing even more difficult. What bugs me is that there’s something new I could be using but I don’t have the ever elusive iPhone because I’m dirt poor, lol. But it’s a great and innovative, 100% FREE GPS location-based apartment rental search app you can get right now from MyNewPlace in the iPhone app store. Oh yeah, free is the best price ever!

Not only is this free and super handy, you can do something really cool with it. Let’s say you’ve used this app and found a great looking apartment. You go to check it out and the listing photos are WAY better than the location is. Well it’s got Facebook Connect built right into it and you can use your camera and keypad to take notes about the place and photos so you can talk it up or down to your friends by posting photos and comments to Facebook directly onto property listings. I dare you to tell me that’s not the coolest thing ever. Have I mentioned it’s free and that you can get it by going to http://www.mynewplace.com/iphone? Well, it is, lol.
