Hep Sounds on Vinyl

2009 | Blogging, Music, Nostalgia

991-jpgI’m a Rockabilly girl at heart, so vinyl’s my music medium of choice. Granted, I’m into all kinds of music (mostly) but the constant is that next to live music vinyl records produce a sound with some weight, not like the over produced sound of most CDs (especially with the even more over produced sound of current popular music). Something’s always going to be missing.

Well I recently got to check out 911.com Sleevenotes, which is A Blog about Collecting Rare Vinyl 7″, 12″ that has a range of products from picture discs to magazines, memorabilia to vinyl LPs. They’re the official blog for the world’s biggest online store for very rare music memorabilia and rare/deleted vinyl records. They’ve got everything, including new music and music stories on their blog, as well as rare items and collectables of all kinds. In fact they’ve got such a huge collection that, according to them, at least 500,000 pieces are in mint condition and they’re going to guarantee you that it’s authentic!

Unfortunately they’re varied genre’s (from today back to the 60s) only go back so far, and with the exception of the Rockabilly uprising in the 70s-now my genre of choice is the war and post-war era music, but like I said I love all sorts of music so if they’ve got the Stray Cats then they’ve got something for me, too! :)
