Photos: On the Campaign Trail

2010 | Family, Friends, Politics, Rants, Religion, Travel

Not a lot to blog about today, but I do have some photos from a recent trip in the RV of Death, out to the far corners of the campaign trail this week. Here’s some junk from The Conspiracy Room in KC:

The Conspiracy RoomThe Conspiracy Room is bascially a renovated 1930s style floorshow nightclub with a projector and pull down screen, a fairly lavish bar, a back room and an extremely gaudy but gorgeous Egyptian theme to the decor.

The club also boasts an extensive amount of great old posters and photos, one of which is a full 3 panel wall tribute to Marylin Monroe near the entrence.

Granted, I was there for crap I didn’t want to be there for, and since it was a political rally (and also conservative Republican, pew) there was no music, no dancing, no real fun of any kind. In fact the highlight of my night was getting hit on by a looney fringe, real, live conspiracy nutcase who tried to explain to me about God’s plan – um, no thanks.

At least I got some nice photos, which you can check out on my flickr photostream!

00003Second, there are some gorgeous pics of the Capitol Building (if I do say so myself – and I do) that I took on another excursion to Jefferson City, Missouri for yet another stupid tea-bagger rally. You’d think they’d get it out of their system, wouldn’t you? It’s awful tough to hear their right-wing, racist, religionist, cry-baby BS all the damn time and not be able to say anything about it. At least I got to see the capitol, eh? And it is really beautiful, inside and out!

My only issue with the building itself, or I should say it’s design, is that the bulk of what is written inside it are either super religeous quotes or their DIRECTLY from the Bible.

Okay, you’re Christian – fine, we all get it. I don’t give a rats ass if you are or you aren’t, but there IS a Constitutional seperation between church and state in this country no matter how much the ass wagon would love for people to believe that we’re all Evangelical douche bags. Those phrases and quotes that call on God and his oh-so-many retarded blessings? Put them in your house, don’t put them in a building my tax money pays for, thank you so very much. Anyway, enough rant, on to the flickr photostream!
