PharmacistIf you know me well you know that I've suffered from chronic migraines, tension headaches and severe joint pain for the better part of my life. The migraines are less frequent than they were just a year ago, but I still get them a few times a week and they last for hours on end. Now, most people would go to the doctor – and most people would be right. For this kind of thing I really should be seeking medical advice, but unfortunately I have no insurance and no way of paying out of pocket for something like that. Because of my financial situation I have to turn to generic medications over name brands, and generally that means they just don't work very well. But a few months ago my step dad gave me a box of Walgreens Migraine Relief medicine and low and behold – the blasted thing worked! If you have some time, check out the Walgreens Way to Well Fund™!
A big problem I have with name brands is that if they work at all (some just don't work on me) it's usually at too great a monetary expense, one I just can't afford and I live in a small town with few choices so I just end up putting up with the pain. In fact Walgreens medication for migraines worked the first time, and I think my stepdad paid something like 6 or 7 dollars for a 100 ct package and I bought the same kind of migraine medicine from Hy-Vee when I was in a rush a few weeks ago, same amount, and it cost me something in the range of 11 to 12 dollars! I don't know about you but I can't really afford a 40% price up! Especially since Walgreens brand generally contain the same active ingredients as the national brand, and Walgreens has a 100% satisfaction guarantee – not something you find in these parts.

I'm a big fan of Walgreens, always have been, and it's a shame I don't live near one because I'm a scrape above the bottom of the barrel money-wise and I need something that works at a decent price, because I'm having issues just staying afloat – the last thing I need to do is pay twice what I have to pay to get my over-the-counters. Plus Walgreens is pharmacist recommended, so there's some comfort to go along with the savings.
