This is the first really fun thing I’ve gotten in a long time, so prepare to be annoyed with my gushing over my new Heelys! I got a pair of the 7659: Blade with a great color scheme and kind of a vintage look to them.
I never get really good stuff like this, what with my being horribly poor and all, so this is a great big deal for me because I haven’t had the Heelys for that long but I’m absolutely in love with them!
For those who don’t know what Heelys are, they’re basically a pretty wicked shoe (for those of you who remember the this, some of the styles resemble the old Airwalks and Vans of the late 1990s) with one or two protruding wheels sticking out of the heel. They’re a roller shoe, or skate shoe, which is exactly what it sounds like – you can skate on these puppies!
Which, as it turns out, is *not* easy. In fact, just keeping my balance at first was challenging but it’s insane fun and there are multiple how to videos for heeling. I’m still learning to break, because that’s not intuitive for me yet.
I’ve been careening around in straight lines, mostly in my hallway where I can hold onto the walls (I’m a scaredy cat!), getting some excercise while I get to know my new toys a little bit better. Fun!!
I don’t think, though, that I’m ever going to be doing the tricks I’ve seen people do in these shoes! I’m absolutely not a tricks person, but I’m envious of anyone who can do anything cool, lol!
Mine are a bit tight because Heely’s seem to run a size small, so when you order your pair (and you know you will), make sure to order a size up!
This review is of a pair of Heelys I was sent as a member of Business2Blogger for the purposes of an honest product review. All of the opinions are my own.
