So, basically, I have absolutely no time and I’m stressed beyond the telling. And now it’s tax time, so it’s one hundred and fifty percent worse!

I have no problem with tax time, I don’t make much and my taxes are never a problem, always on time and I’ve never had any issues with them. It’s my Mom and Stepdad I’m worried about. They get lazy and put their taxes off then, at the last minute, it becomes OUR problem!

In their defense, I can see why they don’t want to handle it themselves, because it’s terrifying. All those receipts, no order to them! They spend money like it’s going out of style on everything but tax help. Because why spend a little money on accounting software when my sister and I can be bullied into doing their taxes and keeping their books for free?

It’s looming! I hate it when the extra work starts looming! I’m no good with accounting, anyway, and I’m always worried I’ll screw something up then there’ll be some big audit and it’ll be all my fault. That’s setting aside the fact that they have no business forcing their taxes down my throat, anyway.

It’s not like I don’t have enough to do, I sincerely don’t need their work, too!

Well, this is cause for some actual concern. And yes, for those of you in the know already, it does have to do with Walgreens and Express Scripts. Apparently, after a year of negotiations, Express Scripts has decided to shut out major retailer Walgreens from it's pharmacy provider network. Walgreens! Seriously, who else do you think of when you think pharmacies?

For those of you who don't know what or who Express Scripts is, they're a pharmacy benefit manager that works with pharmacies all over the country to help gain discounts from drugstores and encourage competition in the pharmaceutical world that leads to safer and more affordable drugs and prescriptions to Express customers.

So, as a result of Walgreens being dropped like that we have a huge problem on our hands. The people who really need those prescriptions, mainly seniors, are going to end up going way out of their way for their daily prescriptions. And what about those in rural areas, where Walgreens may be the only local pharmacy or at least the only local pharmacy with discounts and benefits? I can't even imagine the kind of thinking behind cutting off seniors during the winter, of all times, and giving them a long drive and a lot of extra hassle just to get done what Walgreens was happy to do for them in a pinch.

If creating difficult travel and expenses for seniors isn't bad enough, Express Scripts has also put America's military service members in a bad spot by refusing to negotiate a separate contract for their Tricare program, which benefits our military. A program for which Walgreens offered a guarantee to match or beat average prices of the other pharmacies that take part in the Tricare network.

Walgreens isn't taking this lying down, though, they're doing what they can by offering a discount on annual membership in the Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens where the cost for is usually $20 for an individual or $35 for a family, but right now we're looking at $5 for an individual (yes, that is for an entire year!) and $10 for a family.

This is absolutely ridiculous, how many poor and elderly people have to pay for the mistakes of someone's bottom line? This is America, right? Aren't we supposed to help these people? I'm going to be talking to my bosses at the radio station and I encourage you to talk to any local media who'll listen if this enrages you like it does me.
